The townland of Aughlish is in the parish of Ballymore in Armagh County. It is labelled number 3 on the map. J056438
"In the townland of Aughlish, near the north west point on the roadfrom Tanderagee to Loughbrickland, is the site of an old church, a portion of the ruins of which are still visible. There are 2 circular burying grounds attached to it, having the appearance of Danish forts: one called Ballynaback is used exclusively by Protestants, the other called Relicairn is devoted to Catholics. In this latter they show a tomb or rather walls where they say the famous robber Redmond O'Hanlon was buried." (Ordnance Survey Memoirs 1835-38)
