Legavilly. "Hollow of the ancient tree". Lug "a hollow" appears in various county names such as Legahory, "the hollow of the cauldron", and Legmoylan "Moylan's hollow". Billa, meaning a tree, occurs as a termination in Mullavilly - "the hill-top of the ancient tree". Both words are common in other counties.
