The townland of Mavemacullen is in the parish of Loughgilly in Armagh County. It is not shown on the map. (There is another Mavemacullen in the parish of Ballymore.)
The 1826 Schools Commission report describes the school in the townland:
"Maymacullan - A pay school under the care of William Stett, of the Presbyterian denomination, who was in receipt of 2d per week. The School was held in a thatched cabin at which 30 scholars were in attendance."
